Angelo is a consummate professional. I used his architectural services for my remodel and was very pleased with the results. Angelo was able to capture the imagination we had for this project and put it to paper, a crucial first step in our renovation.

My wife and I purchased a house that was in need of some TLC but had the potential to be the home for us. We were looking to add a dormer to the upstairs, expand the kitchen and replace the bathrooms. While any contractor could have given us a dormer, I knew that having an architect design it for us would give us the opportunity to fine tune the project while in the design phase and to have all contractors bid on the same detailed drawings and not on their interpretation of what we wanted.

After interviewing architectural firms we decided on GC Architecture. We were impressed with their portfolio of other projects and the samples of detailed drawings of past projects. As we tweaked the design their input was very helpful and the sketches helped us visualize the finish project. Their skill in laying out the kitchen and bathrooms improved the flow and feel of the existing spaces.

The finished drawings were very detailed leaving no confusion of what was to be done. Our requests for materials and manufactures were listed and spelled out leaving no conflicts in the bidding process or questions during permitting. During construction there was only one request from the contractor to modify a support beam to ease installation due to hidden elements in an existing wall. GC Architecture responded quickly with sketches to remedy the situation.

The construction process went smoothly with no delays due to conflicts or confusion of how it was to be accomplished.

The finished project was better than we had hoped and accomplished all we were looking for and more. We attribute that to having an architect that pays attention to the details.

We would recommend GC Architecture to anyone looking to take on a project large or small.

Our work with Angelo Cannizzo and GC Architecture proved to be a great one! Angelo’s expertise enabled us to fulfill our dream kitchen with cost and design in mind. My wife and I moved to Fanwood in 2014 from New York. We did not know anyone and in the area and decided to buy a house that needed a small extension along with a new kitchen, dining room and living room. Our Real Estate agent recommenced GC Architecture so we gave them a call.

From the first phone call I knew I made the right choice. I work with general contractors, design engineers, electrical engineers and architects often in the city and they could care less about your project as long as they get paid. But GC Architecture knew that we were new to the area and that we needed a little help. They recommended three different contractors for pricing along with other services in the area that I needed.

GC Architecture walked us through every step of the process from design to finish. Throughout the life-cycle of our project the design changed several times. Without fail Angelo was the first person at our house taking measurements and photos and dealing with the town and contractor to make certain everything was up to snuff. For this I could not be more grateful. Needless to say, our house came out amazing and we are using GC Architecture again for phase two of our project starting in 2016. I have recommended GC Architecture several times and will continue to recommend them every chance I get.

Nearly 10 years ago, my parents renovated their home to accommodate my grandmother moving in. I remember my mom saying that she was so fortunate to still love her builder/architect even after construction was complete. While expecting our second child five years ago (2010), my husband and I contacted the same architect my mom spoke so highly of, GC Architecture. Angelo brought fresh new ideas to the table and we were overjoyed with the results to our home. Over the next five years, my husband and I lightly discussed opening up our floor plan. This summer (2016), we contacted Angelo because there is no one else we would even consider working with. Angelo listened to what we wanted, and created a design that fit our family’s needs and our wants, beyond our expectations!

Although GC Architecture no longer builds, Angelo was available whenever we needed him and however “silly” our questions may have seemed, he always came to our home with a smile on his face, exhibiting nothing but the utmost professionalism. Over the past five years, GC Architecture completely transformed our small, cramped cape cod into a home that we absolutely love. Angelo was with us every step of the way guiding us in the right direction.

I cannot speak highly enough about GC Architecture’s creativity, professionalism, and communication. There are not enough positive words I could use to describe this company and the service they represent. Working with GC Architecture was a very satisfying and comfortable experience. When I decided that I wanted to expand my house by adding a new kitchen, a family room and a second bathroom, I interviewed several architects and I was definitely most comfortable with Angelo.

He was knowledgeable about local building codes and he really listened to what I wanted, even when I wasn’t completely sure how it could be done. He fully explained the design process from the beginning and he was very good at keeping to reasonable timelines.

My husband and I were looking to expand our home so my mother would be able to come live with us. Upon asking around for recommendations for an architect, a friend of mine recommended Angelo Cannizzo of GC Architecture. Fortunately, I asked the right person for a referral. From my initial phone conversation to our first meeting in our home, we knew Angelo was the right person for our job.

We had a vision of what we needed to do to expand our home, but required the help of a professional to put all the pieces together on paper. Angelo listened to our requests and needs and offered incredible advice every step of the way. He gave us a very realistic timeline for his plans and was able to stick to it.
Communication was always easy with Angelo. He would incorporate our changes as we worked through the best layout for my mother. Our project required a creative and innovative mind like Angelo’s. We needed to add a level to the top of our existing structure, create a new laundry room, rearrange our mechanical room and incorporate an in-law suite for my mother to fit within the guidelines of our town’s specifications. Angelo worked diligently to make sure we maximized our square footage allowed while ensuring we did not need a variance. This is where we really understood the scope of our project and the immense capability of our architect. Angelo is extremely familiar with building codes and also ensured we stayed within our budget for our expansion.

The final design drawings came out wonderful! The incredible attention to every detail added on the plans made it extremely easy for contractors to bid. I am even able to read them and understand the descriptions. As we are now well under way in our project, we have run into several questions regarding the way our contractor or his subcontractors are doing something. Each and every time, I have reached out to Angelo. He immediately addressed my concerns and answered my questions thoroughly. His expertise and follow up has allowed us to correct or avoid further issues that the contractor has created.

What I respect most about Angelo is that although his “job” is technically finished as far as his part with us is concerned, he is clearly seeing this project through to the end and beyond with us. I have and will continue to recommend Angelo and GC Architecture to anyone I know.
